Tetsuo Masanori (哲雄正則, Masanori Tetsuo") is a student at Yuuei, studying to become a hero, and one of the main protagonists of ---. Tetsu's past is a cruel one. Born into a problematic family, his early life was that of hell. He was abused both mentally and physically, tortured, forced to do the best in every class, in every grade, for if not, worse torture. However, Tetsuo like many children his age, developed a Quirk. A year or so after developing it, he accidentally used it on both of his parents, and caused them to go insane, which ultimately killed them. After this, he ran away and lived on the streets for a few months, begging for money day by day, fighting on the streets, until he was saved, and adopted by ---, who taught him the ways of heroics, physical, and mental education, as well as how to utilize his quirk at its fullest potential. This all while attending normal school. Admiring his new adoptive parent, Tetsu vowed to become a hero, so he could stop any suffering he could. Years later, he applied at Yuuei and with his Quirk and resolve, placed first in the Entrance Exam.

Before said Entrance Exams, Tetsu happened to meet his soon to be best friends, Daisuke Ryouichi, another boy striving to become a hero, and Hana Sachiko, an aspiring heroine. All three passed the Entrance Exam, and were emitted into Class 1-X, one of the lesser known classes at Yuuei. The three then shared their own ideals, backgrounds, and abilities to one another, forming a friendship, and an alliance, or semi-team if you will.

• His appearance is based on the character of Hibari Kyoya from the anime/manga series known as, Katekyo Hitman Reborn.
  • Tetsu's name translates into "Wise Hero (Tetsuo) and Model of Justice (Masanori)". In turn, his nickname "Tetsu", can be directly translated into "Iron".
