"If you want great power Otohime you must have the will to sacrifice everything to achieve it otherwise you will simply be holding yourself back. Power always comes at a cost."

Hoori Sakuya

Hoori Sakuya is the youngest child of Ninigi Sakuya and Konohana Akatsuki. Unlike his older siblings he had no interest in becoming a hero when he was a child. He was perfectly content with the normal life. That is until his best friend Otohime Watatsumi was kidnapped by her evil older sister when she was only ten years old. He trained every day from that moment on and eventually left to search for her seven years later. He found her only a month later passed out on the ground after a daring and successful escape attempt and ever since he has been helping her recover and eventually teamed up with her once she became a hero as her sidekick.

Appearance[]

Hoori seems to have inherited much more than his Quirk from his father as he is the spitting image of his father with the sole exception of his hair color that his brown like his mother's. He has his father's face, build, and even stands around like him. As a child, people used to call him "Mini Ninigi" due to just how similar he is to him. If one didn't know better they might think Ninigi cloned himself.

Hoori typically has a demeanor that could be described as kind and approachable. His body posture is typically relaxed and inviting to the point where even Otohime's students feel comfortable with talking to him in a casual manner and using his first name. There is almost never a hint of malice in his eyes, but instead a look of empathy or like he is trying to understand making it even easier to talk to him. At times there can be an emptiness or depression in his demeanor that results from how boring he now finds life. This is usually hard to see because he hides it very well, but if one were to look carefully they may see it in his demeanor as a look of longing.

Hoori is very tall for a male in Japan; he comes at a height of six feet, which is five inches taller than the average male in Japan. Complementing his height, Hoori as a very athletic build. His rigorous training has given him an athletic build befitting that of an Olympic martial artist. Also serving as remnants of his training, Hoori as a few scars on his body like on his back, right inner thigh, and shins.

Hoori's brown hair is usually unkempt and falls lazy over his forehead and down his neck. One can usually find strands of his hair sticking up here and there as though it has not been brushed. At times it can look so unkempt that it looks as though he had just gotten out of better, which knowing him is a fair assumption to make. In situations where he does have to care about his appearance Hoori usually will put his hair in a small ponytail and make it slightly more tidy.

Personality[]

Hoori is a person who is widely known for being an incredibly loyal who has a very kind heart. Nothing proves this more than when Otohime was kidnapped by her sister. Hoori did not only throw away his dream of having a quiet life to become a hero to find Otohime and help bring her back home, but he also took care of her and helped her deal with the trauma in place of her deceased parents and still continues to help Otohime with her PTSD to this day with no sign of stopping any time soon.

Hoori is a very patient person on top of being loyal, which makes him very hard to anger and willing to give chances. He has so much patience that it is said to be able balance out Otohime's lack of patience. This and his charisma is why quite a few of Hoori's interactions with Otohime involves attempting to calm her down.

The only time Hoori isn't patient is during a job. He tends to act recklessly when it comes to saving people. It is obvious by his actions he isn't afraid to sacfrice himself for the sake of others and if he were ever in a situation where he had to kill himself to save another he would without a second thought. This is his Achilles' heel. Without Otohime to keep him in check with her rational thinking it can be very easy to make him do what one wants by playing on his emotions with threats directed at others particularly if it is directed at Otohime. Despite this, Hoori isn't stupid or naive he just doesn't have a lot of self restraint.

He is very kind hearted person who is usually willing to put the life and needs of others before his own and seemingly incapable of saying no to a person in need no matter how small their request is. This makes him a very busy person on most days because of how he is usually busy running around the city helping people with small things. On any given day he is known to do hundreds of small errands.

Hoori giving into Otohime's anger

He is a push over not just when it comes to favors, but when it comes to arguments as well. Unless it is something serious, he will usually give in after a few moments of arguing. He is even more of a push over with non serious arguments with Otohime since he is always trying to prevent her from getting angry for the safety of others. Arguments drain him very quickly, which explains why he is such a push over when it comes to arguing. When he does feel the need to state his opinion he usually does so in such a way that avoids the risk of provoking and argument such as phrasing it as an advice. This is only when it comes to non serious arguments because when it comes to stuff he is passionate about then he is anything, but a push over and becomes even more stubborn than Otohime. It is easy to sway the steps he takes, but impossible to change what he is striving for. Once he decides on a goal no one can change his mind.

Contrary to how busy he is, Hoori is a very lazy and unmotivated person. He went through hellish training as a student for the purpose of rescuing his friend. His hellish training has made him a person who doesn't want to do anything while is unmotivated attitude comes from how he doesn't know where to go next now that Otohime is back home. This is probably why Hoori acts so selflessly and of pure hearted person. It is true he does do these things in part because he is kind, but it is mostly because he hopes that doing these good deeds will help him discover the next goal in his life. This also explains why a very powerful hero is currently working as a simple sidekick for another hero, Otohime.

This suggests that there is so much more to Hoori than being a nice person unlike what most people think. His unmotivated attitude often makes him question many of the things he does and his morality. For example, if a good deed is truly good if it is done on a whim or if he would still be a good person if he wasn't so unmotivated. There is always an intense conflict occurring inside Hoori's head spreading doubt and confusion in him. There are nights when it becomes too much and he is unable to sleep. Otohime seems to always be able to know when he is like because the lectures or kind words she says when he is like this is usually enough to knock him out of it.

This seems to suggest that contrary to Otohime who thinks logically, Hoori balances their team out by how he tends to allow his emotions play a role in his decision making. As a Gray Hero, Otohime protects civilians by putting principles, judgment, and rationality before popularity and public opinion while Hoori does the exact opposite and usually takes into consideration what people want to happen. If Otohime is the hero people need and deserve then Hoori is the one civilians want. He does things because of them and not for them. This as a result means that Hoori isn't always in agreement with Otohime's Gray Hero ideals as he sometimes feels that she takes things too far while at the same time acknowledging that he can't argue with her results.

His lack of motivation, patience, and how he is a push over make it clear he is more of a follower than a leader and Hoori is well aware of that. He does best when he is being given directions and does his best to stay out of leadership positions by letting Otohime take charge. Hoori is the type of person who is aware of his strengths, weaknesses, and place in the world and he accepts it. He doesn't seek to go beyond his limits, but merely to reach them.

While he may be a very kind person, he isn't an optimist like how most people imagine kind hearted people being. As shown by how he knows his place, Hoori is a realist. In fact, contrary to his kind heart, optimists who believe they can rid the world of all evil are his biggest pet peeve. He won't hesitate to drop his kind hearted persona to tell those people the truth regardless of how much it will hurt for them to hear it because he feels lying to those people is crueler than not telling them truth of the world. Of course, he is still a kind hearted person at the end of the day and can allow people to enjoy a little optimism. It is only when people act overly optimistic when he will begin to truly act and talk like a realist.

An oath of friendship and loyalty

Otohime and Hoori's oath of friendship and loyalty

Hoori has a very close relationship with his childhood friend Otohime. When they first met, their relationship was nothing more than a symbiotic friendship. Friends only because they each got something out of their friendship. However, as time past they became very close friends and were practically inseparable. Their relationship took a drastic turn after Hoori saved Otohime and he took her in. In the several years following the rescue he became more like a parent to Otohime than a friend due to how she was too mentally broken to take care of herself even when it came to the most simplest of tasks like how she couldn't even brush her teeth.

Hoori cooked for her, washed her clothes, took her to the doctor, helped her get ready for bed, read her books when it was time for bed, stayed in her room when she had trouble sleeping, retaught her the difference between right and wrong, taught her how to fight when she wanted to become a hero, and so much more. This is what makes their relationship so complicated. While it is true that for the most part they are back to being friends, there is still a bit of that parent and child aspect in their relationship albeit to a significantly lesser degree. At times it can seem as though they are a pair of "loving" siblings and at others a bit of their parent and child relationship can seep back into their relationship. This typically only happens when Otohime's trauma resurfaces and Hoori needs to comfort her as a result or when Otohime is about to do something that Hoori firmly believes will put her in harms way. This suggests that Hoori truly does know what is best for Otohime even better than she does at times. At times it can seem as though one second they are arguing like a pair of siblings or Otohime will be the one in control and the next she will be listening to Hoori's every word like a child obeying an adult who clearly knows what is best for them better than they do. Further complicating everything and balancing out their relationship, despite all that has been said it is Hoori that respects and looks up to Otohime and not so much the other way around. Since day one Hoori has respected and admired Otohime for her intelligence and willpower; how she can continue to push through life regardless of other's expectations or what life throws her way.

Kurohime Watatsumi[]

Hoori is not the type of person to hate people easily, but with that being said Kurohime is one of the few people he truly hates and would like nothing better than to see her buried six feet under.

History[]

Hoori Sakuya was born in Musutafu as the youngest son of the retired heroes Ninigi Sakuya and Konohana Akatsuki. Just like his brothers, Hoori had inherited his parents natural talent for athletics. When his Quirk surfaced when he was two it was realized that he possessed a superior version of his father's Quirk known as "All or Nothing." With this much talent on top of how kind he was everyone expected him to want to be a hero. However, unlike his brothers Hoori originally had no such desire to become a hero. As a result of this his early childhood was very normal since unlike his peers he was focused on growing up to live an ordinary life instead as a hero. His kindness earned him a lot of friends and so he was always the popular ones in class. Although he hated he fighting he would not hesitate to stick up for his friends and fight off bullies for them, which is why his peers gave him the title as the "Reluctant Hero." With that said, his life was not completely perfect. As laid back as he was he was not blind to the expectations society, and to a small extent his parents, placed on him as the child of Ninigi Sakuya and Konohana Akatsuki in a very similar way as the expectations placed on Otohime due to how she had a quirk marriage of her parents Quirks who were idolized as great heroes.

However, unlike Otohime who had bigger concerns to distract herself from the pressure Hoori did not. The pressure got to him very early on in his academic career as he tried to find some other way to live up to them and this pressure in turn caused him to suffer a bit as far as grades went. He was subpar for most of his early childhood, which often frustrated his parents as they knew he could do better and this frustration eventually put Hoori at odds with his parents. Things stayed this way all the way until he was around 10 years old. Just before the new school year began a family moved in next to him. The family composed of the great heroes Ryūjin, Kiyohime, their oldest daughter Kurohime who he had a lot of uneasy rumors about, and last, but not least their youngest daughter Otohime. Otohime caught his eye the moment he first saw her; there was just something in her lonely eyes that he could relate to. He could tell by that one glance that they were different sides of the same coin.

Much to his surprise the following day when school started he learned she was not only in the same school as him, but also three grades below him, despite how she was only four. He quickly learned the reason behind her skipping a few grades wasn't simply because she was gifted, but she was a hard worker. When he learned this Hoori finally got up the nerve and walked up to her to talk to her. Thus began their friendship that seemed to be destiny. At first their friendship was merely symbiotic. He would help keep the bullies that she had a tendency of attracting away and help her get away from her sister while she helped him academically.

Their friendship grew very quickly due to the amount of time they spent together and in a few months time he considered her one of his closest friends. It quickly became clear that Otohime was the friend he needed in his life as in the four years that followed his grades became better, he stopped striving only for mediocrity and started pushing himself, and he was a far happier person. It may have only been four years, but judging from how Otohime and Hoori acted one would assume they had always been friends. This is why the 14 year old Hoori was distraught on Saturday morning when he heard how Otohime's sister had killed her parents, kidnapped Otohime, and disappeared without a trace. At that moment he made an oath to his parents that he would become a hero and bring back the little girl they considered family.

From that day onward he began to hone his talents with the help of his father just like Otohime used to hone hers. He learned all he could about martial arts from his father and took all of the harsh training his father threw at him head on. Two years after Otohime disappeared he managed to get into U.A. High and three years later he graduated on the top of his grades for his combat prowess and how dedicated he was to what heroes symbolized. In his first year, he took one kidnapping case after another. Not only did he gain a lot of respect from the public with those jobs, but also managed to get closer and closer to Otohime from the rumors the villains told him about Kurohime in exchange for lesser sentences. Finally, six years after Otohime had been kidnapped when he was 20 years old he had pinpointed where Kurohime was hiding her. When he arrived at the facility he saw a scene that could only be called pure carnage. The facility and its surroundings were in complete ruins with bodies littering the floor. When he looked up he saw a passed out Otohime falling from the sky and rushed up to catch her in the sky just in time to be attacked by Kurohime.

Despite, having Otohime in his arms Hoori managed to fend Kurohime off and retreat to safety. It took several days to return to Musutafu from the village Hoori retreated to from his battle with Hoori. When Hoori and Otohime returned to the village it was immediately obvious that there were a lot of things wrong with her mental state. The most notable change to her mentality comes from her long years of pain and suffering. It appeared that while life had return to Otohime she was still very much broken on the inside and had an inability to trust people as well as a killing instinct. The combination of these two things caused her to try to kill anyone who approached her with the exception of Hoori. As her parents were dead and no one else was brave enough to approach Otohime Hoori took it on himself to bring Otohime under his care with a little help from his parents.

In the beginning it was very hard to care for Otohime even with his parents' help. However, even so as the years passed on Hoori's kind heart eventually did begin to change her. While the change was small it did show signs that Otohime wasn't beyond saving. Her fear and introverted persona caused her to speak to no one aside from Hoori and she rarely left his side forcing Hoori to continue his role as a guardian figure to her. The combination of her time with Hoori in the previous years and her current change created a very powerful bond to develop between them. After four long years Otohime finally gained some semblance of a personality, but she was still very broken on the inside, but this did not stop her from declaring that she wanted to become a hero to stop anyone else from experiencing what she did and so that she can do for others what Hoori did for her.

At that time Hoori and Otohime moved out of the house of Hoori's parents and into a house of their home and Otohime applied to a very small hero school and managed to get in. For the past three years Otohime would go to the hero school, go to an academic tutor to receive what little academic education she needed, and then come home where Hoori would train her in hand-to-hand combat. It was revealed that even though Otohime had been outside of school for six years she was still just as smart as other's her age thanks to her unnaturally smart and powerful mind so the tutoring quickly became unneeded.

Having a normal life and how Hoori would push her beyond her physical and mental limits every day helped accelerate Otohime's healing. Hoori would train her by having Otohime repeat the same rigorous training exercises every day until she mastered it at which point he placed some limitation on her, usually having her carry extra weight during the training, to make the exercises harder.

After Otohime had graduated, Hoori decided to work with her as her sidekick. He would still do hero jobs by himself especially considering how the fines Otohime accumulated by Gray Hero beliefs was not easy on their wallets. Hoori went on a lot of high class jobs such as taking down large criminal organizations and these jobs built on his already quite incredible reputation that he had due to how what he had done for Otohime was well known.

Abilities and Powers[]

Natural Abilities[]

Immense Physical Capabilities[]

Hoori using his immense speed to create afterimages

Hoori using his immense speed to create afterimages

Knowing that he will rarely be using his Quirk due to how risky it is, Hoori went through harsh training to improve his physical abilities and martial art prowess to make up for that. He did this so he won't need to always rely on his Quirk to take down villains. He can even best villains with enhancing Quirks of their own with his natural physical traits alone. Hoori's training has pushed his physical traits to a supernatural level. His training has enhanced every single part of his body to where Hoori lacks a single useless muscle in his body or a physical trait that is lagging behind the others. Hoori has shown in his spars with Otohime the ability to keep up and slightly exceed her own physical abilities, which is apparently on the level of dragons with the only exception being how his senses aren't as sharp as hers. He is able to take numerous blows thanks to his durability and endurance, throw powerful punches with his strength, move faster than the eye can see or create afterimages with his speed, react at a moment's notice with his lightning-quick reflexes, etc.

Enhanced Charisma[]

Ever since birth, Hoori has demonstrated how he has unnaturally high charisma. He can gain the trust of people very easily giving him a magnetic quality as his charisma causes people to be naturally drawn to him. His charisma is so high that it is rumored that he is the only who can calm Otohime down when she has entered her dragon form and can do so without resorting to violence. Over the course of his career as a hero his charisma has served him well. He has lost count of how many times he has defused a potentially violent situation with his charisma alone or has converted a villain into a hero.

Grandmaster Martial Artist[]

Hoori flowing together multple martial art styles with ease

Hoori switching between several styles of martial arts like it is nothing

After years of harsh training, Hoori has reached a very high level of martial art proficiency and obtained a lot of combat knowledge and experience, which is to be expected of the man who trained Otohime. He has learned mastered countless martial art styles, which he can smoothly and instantly switch between during a fight. It appears he doesn't just have a lot of skill with them, but he full understands them. His level of understanding allows him to expertly blend two or three martial art styles together to create a new martial art that best fits the circumstances he is in, which would require that he fully understand all the components of the martial arts he is blending together for it to be effective. His vast knowledge allows him to strike, block, counter, disarm, and move in many different ways, which can make him an overwhelming opponent to face even among some masters.

Hoori has so much skill with martial arts that Otohime's pales in comparison despite how overall Otohime and Hoori are evenly matched as fighters and she is an impressive martial artist in her own right. So much so that Otohime still considers herself his student in martial arts. In spars against Otohime that involved only martial arts Hoori has won over 90% of them, which contrasts greatly to how Otohime beats him most of the time when Quirks are allowed.

In terms of fighting against villains, Hoori's immense skill allows him to take on multiple opponents or a single powerful one with his bare hands. When he had just graduated from U.A. High and had found Otohime he was capable of defending off Otohime's powerful sister with Otohime on his back and weighing him down and since then he has contained to become a more powerful and versatile martial artist.

In addition to his grandmastery with martial arts, Hoori has acquired a deep understanding of combat in general albeit not as deep as Otohime's. He is able to analyze and adapt to his opponents fairly quickly, which allows him to pick up and exploit their various strengths and weaknesses. After a long enough time he can develop an understanding of his opponent, which helps him predict their next move and stay a couple of steps ahead. If Hoori had one weakness apart from the problem with range that all martial artists have, it is how his combative knowledge can't keep up with his martial art prowess. He isn't as good at analyzing the situation and opponents as he is with martial arts, which makes it easy to outsmart Hoori. This is the root of what makes Hoori and Otohime such an amazing team. They are able to cover each other's weakness so well that together they have close to none.

Fighting Style[]

Tenshouaku Kenryu[]

Tenshouaku Kenryu (天掌握 剣流, "Heaven Grasping Fist-Style") is an alternate form of Karate that was developed by Hoori around his Quirk and it is his trademark fighting style. It revolves around maintaining complete conscious control over his ki during a fight. When he makes strikes, blocks, or any other movements he loosens his body and mind to allow him to make the utmost smallest changes to the ratios between his physical traits. How much a physical trait is enhanced may be extremely small almost not noticeable, but that in turn means the risk is very low which allows Hoori to use his Quirk more freely. If Hoori is smart with when and where he makes these very small changes it may be possible change the flow of a fight to his favor. Hoori has grand mastery of this fighting style he created. His mastery allows him to integrate core idea of Tenshouaku Kenryu into any fighting style he knows. As a result, Tenshouaku Kenryu seems less of an actual martial art style and more of a mere trait of martial art that Hoori can apply to any style of martial art that he knows.

  • Devil's Loophole: Normally when using his Quirk, the effects and side effects of the Quirk is applied to his whole body instead of just the intended limb, which is what makes the drawbacks of the Quirk so debilitating. Devil's Loophole is a move Hoori developed after obtaining complete mastery of his Quirk. Through intense concentration he can focus the effects of the Quirk to a single limb. For example, lowering the speed of his arm to enhance the arm's strength instead of lowering his body's speed to enhance his body's strength just to throw a punch. This means that afterwards, the drawbacks of the Quirk are concentrated only to that body part and not his body as a whole, which makes it a bit easier to manage the drawbacks akin to how Izuku used to focus the power of One For All in a single limb so only that limb will be hurt by its drawback instead of his entire body. Unfortunately the technique itself comes with two big drawbacks. The first is how the smallest break in concentration can prevent Hoori from using the technique. The second is how he can't use his Quirk to its fullest potential with this move. He can only make slight changes to the ratios between his physical abilities as he can only change the ratios by 15% and while these changes can be noticeable they are nowhere near as overwhelming as is Quirk is without this move. In summary, this technique lowers the reward provided by his Quirk making it a much more inferior in order to make the risk more manageable.

Ox Demon Style[]

Tumblr mfckimInlu1qcsesho1 400

The Ox Demon Style in use

Over the course of his life thus far Hoori has developed three fighting styles. His signature fighting style Tenshouaku Kenryu, the skill centered one built around transitioning from one fighting style to the next, and the defensive fighting style known by the name Ox Demon Style, which was named after the ushi-oni that appears as a protective symbol and made its claim to fame as being the fighting style Hoori used to fend off Kurohime. This fighting style is composed of small movements that keep limbs close to the body such as elbow strikes instead of punches, knee strikes instead of kicks, small steps to allow him to make changes at a moments notice instead of large steps, etc. By keeping his movements small and tight he is able to maximize his defense because the small movements allow leave him with almost no openings and allow him to defend himself at any moment. This style's true offensive potential doesn't come any physical attacks, but how it strikes at the opponent's stamina. The combination of small movements and focus on defense allowing him to rely on muscle memory more than other fighting styles greatly minimizes how much energy Hoori spends making it very easy for Hoori to outlast offense heavy opponents. Due to this fact, this fighting style seems almost as the embodiment of the principles Pro Heroes stand for. Just like heroes are supposed to focus on protecting people and not attacking villains, this fighting style allows Hoori to let his opponent hammer away at him until fatigue sets him allowing Hoori to easily bring his foe into custody without needing to do any serious harm to them in turn. Its biggest strength is also its greatest weakness. Due to its focus on tight small movements, the Ox Demon Style is very vulnerable to fighting styles such as Otohime's Azure Dragon Style that use agility to try to overwhelm opponents. Ox Demon Style isn't suited toward making those large and sudden movements and changes in directions need to keep up with a foe that is jumping and flipping all around Hoori.

Quirk[]

Deal With the Devil[]

Yamasachihiko

Hoori using Deal With the Devil

Deal With the Devil better known as Yamasachihiko is an extremely powerful Mutant Quirk with amazing potential. This Quirk alone has made Hoori Sakuya standout as a martial artist as shown by his title as the "Martial Art God." However, its great power comes at an even greater cost that makes it a high risk-high reward Quirk.

Deal With the Devil is a Mutant Quirk that allows Hoori to influence the ki within his body to control the ratios between his physical attributes and traits. By decreasing one physical attribute or trait Hoori is able to increase another by the same amount. He can use this Quirk to not only enhance physical attributes like strength or speed, but also stuff like his senses.

What makes the Quirk very dangerous isn't the Quirk itself, but what Hoori can use it to do. Hoori's physical capabilities are already extraordinary and with how heightened they are Hoori is able to increase any physical attribute exponentially to reach a level with few peers, which makes it a lot better than most enhancing Quirks.

Hoori's strength

Hoori drastically lowering his speed to drastically increase his strength in order to deliver a devastating punch.

Hoori in the past has performed amazing feats of martial arts with his Quirk. He has thrown devastating punches, slam a foe with a powerful gust of wind by swiping at the air with great force, enhance his senses to a high enough level that it appears as if Hoori has a sort of "danger sense," and much more.

Apart from its obvious drawback the Quirk has a couple of others. One of which the attribute that was decreased remains decreased even after the enhanced attributes returns to normal. How long it stays lowers depends on how much it was lowered. For example, if it was lowered by 30% it will remain lowered for 60 seconds after the enhanced attribute was lowered plus two seconds for every second the enhanced attribute remained enhanced. This makes the Quirk's primary weakness very easy to pick up and exploit. The risk of using this Quirk is usually so high that logic would say it would be better not to use it at all. This may be why Hoori only uses it when he has no other choice or when he is protecting someone that he values over his own life.

  • Athena's Revelation: Athena's Revelation is a move that allows Hoori to enhance his senses. Its name correlates to one of Otohime's aliases, "Athena", because of how it allows Hoori to imitate Otohime's Prescience ability. By lowering his body's strength, durability, endurance, stamina, and flexibility he can enhance all five of his senses considerably. His senses are enhanced so much that it appears that Hoori obtains a "danger sense" that alerts him to attacks sometimes before they even occur to allow him to evade threats a lot better than he would otherwise be able to.
  • Yamasachihiko:
    Hoori's immense strength

    Hoori using Yamasachihiko

Yamasachihiko is Hoori's trademark move and why his Quirk is also known by the same name. The move seems to be a manifestation of Hoori's Quirk because it is even more of a high risk-high reward move than the Quirk to the point where the move can be called an all-or-nothing-type attack. It allows Hoori to throw an incredibly powerful punch capable of dealing devastating damage to his foes or going so far as to annihilate them. It is described as a punch where Otohime dedicates his entire body to the task of punching throwing an incredibly powerful punch and true to the description Hoori lowers all of his physical traits except strength to enhance his strength as much as possible.
  • Shadowless Kick: Shadowless Kick is a move that allows Hoori to lower the strength of one of his legs to enhance the leg's reflexes to allow him to deliver a lightning-fast kick that moves faster than the eye can see. It earned its name from how the kick moves so quickly that shadows don't get a chance to form before the kick connects and his leg is lowered back to the ground.
    • Last Resort: Shadowless Kick: Last Resort: Shadowless Kick is a move that draws its power from speed rather than Hoori's strength and it is both powerful and very difficult to dodge. By lowering his body's durability, Hoori can increase his speed dramatically allowing him to launch a series of kicks at supersonic speeds very much akin to Otohime's Dragon Gatling Kick. At these speeds, these kicks are capable of colliding into a target with incredible force so much force in fact that he claims that he would even be able to knock Otohime back in her dragon form. These supersonic speeds are responsible for both its power and why it is so difficult to dodge. In the unlikelihood one is able to move fast enough to dodge the kick they would also need to worry about the tailwind that has formed around the leg that might also slam into them. This technique does have several weaknesses. Due to Hoori's lowered durability, this move can leave his leg immensely damaged preventing him from being able to move around hence its name. Secondly, due to how fast the kicks are, Hoori is unable to perform any complex kicks, which restricts him to only simple kicks. This means if this move can be predicted before it happens then anyone can easily deal with it despite its speed. In short, the trick to dealing with this technique is preparing for it instead of dealing with it in the moment.
  • Leopard Blow:
  • Iron Palm: Iron Palm is a move that allows Hoori to lower the speed of one of his body parts, usually his hands, to increase the durability of the same body part to where it becomes "as hard as steel." The move can be used to help him strike his opponent without without injury to himself or simply for defensive purposes.
  • Aeolus Gale:
    Aeolus Gale

    Aeolus Gale

Aeolus Gale is a move where Hoori influences his ki to augment his strength of one of his arms by a considerable amount by lowering the arm's durability by the same amount. Once enhanced, he waves the arm at the air in front of him with great force. The great force of the motion allows Hoori to send a powerful gale force wind a distant opponent to send them flying and cause external damage.

Equipment and Weapons[]

  • Shock Gloves:

The gloves are not just for offense, but can help with mobility as he has been seen using the force of the recoil to as a propulsion system to increase his speed or change directions on the ground or in the air on a dime.
